Symposium on the History of Science in Islamic Civilization Copy

The Ministry of Education and Higher Education of the State of Qatar, in collaboration with the Islam and Muslims Initiative (IMI), is organizing a symposium entitled “Symposium on the History of Science in Islamic Civilization,” to be held in Doha on 23–24 May 2026.

The symposium seeks to reconsider the place of the history of science in Islamic civilization within the broader global history of science through an approach that combines specialized academic inquiry with broader public dialogue. It aims to explore the development of scientific traditions, the circulation of knowledge, and forms of civilizational exchange through a program that brings together academic sessions and public discussions addressed to a wider audience.
