Reimagining Al Areesh Village: A Tasweer Photowalk
A collaboration with Qatar Museums Archeology Department and Tasweer - a creative photowalk at the historic village of Al Areesh in Qatar. This session invites photographers to imagine how the space could be re-inhabited or reinterpreted through the lens of contemporary photography.
Participants will explore the site’s textures, architecture, and atmosphere while engaging with conceptual and fine art approaches — experimenting with framing, composition, and re-staging. Through thoughtful observation and creative interaction, photographers are encouraged to bring props or use natural elements to construct compelling visual narratives that breathe new life into this evocative landscape.
*Al Areesh Heritage Village is a coastal village with traditional Qatari architecture abandonned in the 1970s. The site reflects the daily life of fishing communities and combines modern materiels with the use of local materials like coral stone and palm fronds.
