Panel Discussions

Re-thinking Luxury

How will changing consumer desires and new technology shape the future of luxury car design? The definition of luxury is changing with traditional materials under question, and new technology such as autonomous driving offering a first-class plane lounge experience.  What then, will the future of luxury look like and how will designers respond?

The future of Supercars

Electrification has changed the nature of the production car, what will it do for the supercar? Will the move to EV prompt new forms and aesthetics in the way that some legendary performance brands are experimenting with historic typologies like the shooting brake. There is also the question of powertrain – with the visceral thrills of engine noise set to disappear, designers will need to look to alternative means to provide excitement beyond the sheer velocity. And will ICE-powered supercars still have a place?
