Moving Sand Art Works

In this two-day hands-on workshop, participants will delve into the art and science behind creating moving sand sculptures. — mesmerising artworks where layers of colored sand slowly shift and flow within a sealed frame. Over the course of two sessions, participants will design and laser-cut their own frames, engrave a customised object or design, and finally assemble and fill their creations with sand and liquid to bring them to life. This workshop blends creative fabrication with fundamental fluid dynamics, offering a chance to experiment with materials, movement, and design. By the end of the workshop, participants will:• Understand the principles of balance and flow in moving sand art.• Learn to operate a laser cutter for Cutting and engraving. • Customise their artwork by engraving a personal object or design onto the frame.• Mix and assemble sand and liquid components to achieve a smooth motion effect.
